Programme Coordinator MENA (m/f/d)

Main duties & responsibilities:

Operational and Programmatic Support to GRC Country Teams:
Provide strategic, programmatic, and partnership advice to GRC Heads of Office/Delegates, and support the development of GRC's country strategies;
Support GRC country teams to ensure effective and targeted design and implementation of GRC's projects and programmes;
Provide operational backstopping and emergency surge support as needed;
Advise GRC country teams in applying, contextualizing, and prioritizing global thematic standards and guidelines;
Ensure that HQ-based and regional functions are called upon according to the specific needs of GRC country offices and/or Sister National Society partnerships.
Quality Assurance, Compliance and Trainings:
Ensure that national and global standards and policies are reflected in GRC's country strategies and programmes;
Support the development and review of project proposals, reports, and other programmatic documentation to ensure compliance with relevant policies and strategic objectives;
Carry out regular monitoring and support visits to countries and facilitate trainings.
Regional Coordination:
Maintain a regional overview and promote exchanges between GRC country offices, Sister National Societies, and other Movement components;
Proactively engage in regional RC/RC Movement coordination and participate in relevant Movement meetings;
Substitute for the Head of Office Lebanon on regional representation and Movement engagement tasks, as needed and in coordination with GRC HQ;
Feed programmatic and regional insights into reporting to GRC HQ on regional trends, risks, and opportunities.

Required Competencies & Skills:

Technical experience:
At least five years of experience in the field of international cooperation/humanitarian aid and a profound understanding of the humanitarian landscape, tools and topics.
Substantial programme coordination and project management skills, including (remote management), financial management, budgeting, monitoring, evaluation and reporting, and thorough understanding of donor guidelines and regulations.
Substantial experience in implementing donor-funded projects, experience with GFFO, BMZ, ECHO and other donors.
Technical expertise / humanitarians sector expertise (e.g. disaster preparedness/ disaster risk management, health and organisational development) is an advantage.
Experience in working in Lebanon and/ or the Middle East region is an advantage.
Personal skills:
Excellent understanding of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and full commitment to the Red Cross fundamental principles and Code of Conduct. Red Cross / Red Crescent Movement experience is a strong advantage.
Proven record of capacity strengthening, team development and coaching. Training and workshop facilitation skills are an advantage.
Diplomatic skills and experience in representation, humanitarian diplomacy and networking.
Experience in the development and implementation of policies in the fields of safety and security, PSEA, compliance and human resources development.
Outstanding resilience and stress management skills.
Oral and written fluency in English, knowledge of German and/or Arabic is an advantage.
Readiness to travel to and work in volatile areas is essential. Experience of living and working in insecure and conflict-affected environments is an advantage.
Ability to complete a thorough medical screening process 'working abroad under specific climate and health conditions'.
Valid Driving Licence.

What we offer:

You will be part of a highly motivated professional and multicultural team. We offer you a compensation package according to the collective employment agreement of the GRC, an expatriation allowance during your mission as well as accommodation. In addition to a full insurance package GRC is covering a home flight within a 12-months period of assignment. You will benefit from a comprehensive training package and receive briefings and coaching prior as well as during and after your mission. Medical check-ups and Psychosocial Support Service are included in your assignment.
